Apartment:
This elegantly furnished, newly renovated luxury apartment rental
is situated on Borgo Angelico, just 5 minutes walk to the Vatican.
Situated on the 2nd floor of a 5 story 20th century building with elevator,
this vacation rental is circa 120sq.ms. (1250 sq.ft), composed of a
spacious livingroom with dining area, a master bedroom w/ queen-sized
bed, a double bedroom w/ two full-sized beds.
There are two bathrooms: the large one contains a large jacuzzi bathtub,
separate shower stall, toilet, sink and bidet; and a smaller bathroom
with large shower.
The kitchen is also spacious and fully equipped with gas oven/stove
w/ four burners, microwave oven, large refridgerator and dishwasher.
Behind the kitchen there is also a small balcony.
The livingroom contains a small dining area with round walnut table
that can accommodate up to four people.
There is one television in the livingroom (with satellite receiver)
and one in the master bedroom.
Furnishings and decor in this apartment are of high standard, very
tasteful, with 19th century antique pieces, in all offering the feel
of a quality, classic roman home.
Floors in all major rooms are covered with parquet wood.

Location:
This apartment is situated on Borgo Angelico, located between
the Vatican
(St. Peter's Cathedral) and Castel Sant'Angelo. It forms part of the
"Borgo" district (so called as there are 5 other streets in
the area with names that begin with "Borgo"), and its significance
in the history of Rome dates back to ancient times. In 850, the area
became the stronghold of the papacy when Leo IV enclosed it with
a line of 12 meter high walls to protect the neighborhood from Sarecen
attacks. In 1586, it was finally incorporated in the city of Rome. Remnants
of the walls however are still evident westward of St. Peter's.
Today, this area is a mix of residential and sprinklings of small hotels
and neighborhood shops. The vicinity of the Vatican, nevertheless
is what most characterizes this area.
Walking distance to major sites in Rome:
5 minutes: Vatican
10 minutes: Castel Sant'Angelo
15 minutes: Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori
20 minutes: Pantheon
