Location:
Piazza Farnese is an aristocratic Renaissance square and the
site of the magnificent "Palazzo Farnese", built between 1514-1589,
and designed by Sangallo and Michelangelo, among others. Beginning in
the1630s until today, this Palazzo has been the home of the French Embassy.
Just one block north is Piazza
Campo dei Fiori, a popular square with many restaurants, cafes,
shops, boutiques, as well as a daily open air food market. This Piazza
comes alive during the day with street musicians, local Romans doing
their shopping, and people relaxing and taking in the sun at the street-side
cafes. At night, it is also a trendy destination for Romans and tourists
alike, who gather in this area for the many quality restaurants and
wine bars.
This is the perfect spot if you're looking for a genuine, relaxed taste
of Rome.
